Richard A. Meserve
President Emeritus, Carnegie Institution of Washington
Dr. Meserve is President Emeritus of the Carnegie Institution of Washington (not-for-profit scientific research institution) (2003-2014). He has served as Senior Of Counsel to the international law firm of Covington & Burling LLP since April 2004, and is a consultant on nuclear matters. Prior to joining the Carnegie Institution of Washington, Dr. Meserve was Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Dr. Meserve has been a director of PG&E Corporation and Pacific Gas and Electric Company since 2006. He also has served as a director of Duke Energy Corporation (gas and electric energy company) since 2015, and is a member of the board of trustees of Universities Research Association, Inc. (consortium of research-oriented universities) and a director of Tri Alpha Energy, Inc.
